On a national scale and in its capacity as the representative body of the Greek spirits industry, SEAOP participates in committees and working groups set up by various ministries (Ministry of Rural Development and Food, Ministry of the Economy and Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) on all issues pertaining to the activities of the industry and puts forward proposals identifying the parameters of strategic importance for the Greek spirits industry, by means of, in fact, taking active part in the decision-making process in terms of the industry’s progress.
SEAOP is a member of the Federation of the Hellenic Food Indusrty (SEVT).
It is represented in the National Export Council, the strategic body responsible for devising export policies, as well as in the Working Group on Wines and Spirits under the authority of the Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC).
It collaborates with Entreprise Greece and other segments of the Food and Drink Industry for the purpose of creating and implementing the initiative KERASMA, towards the ultimate goal of getting people acquainted with the wealth of Greek gastronomy and food and highlighting the advantages inherent in the Greek and Mediterranean diet, thus adding the joy of eating and drinking to our everyday table.
The Federation is an active member and has appointed a permanent representative to the Board of the European Spirits Organization (Spirits Europe), namely the European representative body for producers of spirit drinks. It participates in the Spirits Europe working groups, which process and introduce proposals to the Council and Commission of the European Union.
It monitors the European Parliament’s proceedings and puts forward proposals on issues pertaining to the industry, thus ensuring and fostering the interests of Greek products.
Moreover, SEAOP participates in domestic sectoral exhibitions, representing the products of its members as a whole and decisively contributing to their promotion.
