PLOMARI OUZO DISTILLERY - ISIDOROS ARVANITIS S.A.
Plomari Ouzo Distillery Isidoros Arvanitis has been producing Ouzo in Plomari of Lesbos since 1894, when the founder Isidoros Arvanitis created the famous recipe of the Ouzo that still bears his name. The Distillery, a Greek company owned by the Kaloyannis family, follows the traditional production methods, using small handmade copper stills and a combination of local herbs and nuts of the highest quality. The aniseed and fennel used in the distillation process are grown in the Distillery's biologically certified fields in Lisvori, Lesvos.
The traditional technique of the very slow distillation process, helps to achieve a unique “equilibrium” of flavours that make the Ouzo of Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis a unique product distilled 100%. Recently, the Plomari Ouzo Distillery Isidoros Arvanitis has been relocated to a new site in picturesque Plomari where more small handmade copper stills have been added in order to meet the growing export demand. Plomari Ouzo Distillery Isidoros Arvanitis still operates, combining the traditional distillation methods, with the most modern developments in quality control, bottling, health and safety. All procedures are carried out under strictly controlled conditions observing all health regulations. This is confirmed by the Quality Assurance Certificate awarded to the Plomari Ouzo Distillery Isidoros Arvanitis, for implementing the HACCP system in the production and bottling of its products.
